People don't understand...

What don't people understand about seperation? The bible is very clear on seperation, isn't it?
We hear preacher say things like "God sanctified us!" and the congregation in unison says, "Amen" Yes, God sanctified us but shouldn't we allow God to keep us sanctified? Sanctification is NOT salvation, but so many people use the term interchangebly. The idea and spirit behind sanctification is to be cleansed and SET APART (seperate) meet for the masters use. If we are living in SIN (ie: being a poor steward, not taking care of our bodies, looking like the world, talking like the world. (just to name a few)) HOW CAN WE BE MEET FOR THE MASTER'S USE IF WE'RE LIVING IN SIN?!
2 Timothy 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

As far as I can tell to one degree or another my family thinks that being part of the world is A-OK
James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Amos 3:3
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
